when did you start playing drums?
when i was young i always wanted to play drums but i lived in an apartment. my brother had already been playing guitar at decibel levels that were insane for an apartment that shared a courtyard with several thousand neighbors. so i had to defer my drum dreams until i moved out.
when i was about 11 my parents bought me a tiny drum pad and a pair of sticks and told me that this was the first step to becoming a drummer. note: if you have a child that wants to become a drummer against your wishes - buy the smallest drum pad you can find, the dream fades quickly.
the dream had faded but did not die so when i went to university i bought a snare drum and started pissing off my dormmates. i moved out sophomore year and got my first drum set at age 19.
